The Reinhold Würth Handwerks-Spiegel

The objective of this project was to produce a report on the state of the German craft industry that would offer practical advice for individual companies based on current practice within the industry.

Manufactum is divided into three main sections. Part 1, Opportunities and Predictions, is dedicated to customers’ wishes and opinions, “What the customers of today and tomorrow want”.

Part 2 concentrates on the craft industry’s view of itself. The results of a comprehensive survey of the wood and metal-working sectors were published in the form of anonymous self-evaluations by the participating firms and reveal the importance today of management, personnel development programmes, key business ratios and the use of computer technology (among other things) as factors for business success.

The concluding third part, “Taking the craft industry in new directions”, takes the form of a collection of portraits of successful craft firms operating in a variety of different fields.

In addition to project management, 2SBM was responsible for concept development, graphic design, editing/text and supervising production of the Reinhold Würth Handwerks-Spiegel.
